Men's Issues

Men are often taught from a young age to be strong and tough, hearing phrases like "man up" or "big boys don't cry." Society encourages them to suppress their struggles, leading to stress, anxiety, and anger.

Male depression frequently goes undiagnosed because men feel they shouldn't express sadness or vulnerability. They may appear withdrawn, angry, or frustrated without realizing they are depressed. Since male depression can present differently than female depression, it is sometimes overlooked by mental health professionals.

Men also struggle with career and family expectations. Traditional "breadwinner" pressure can cause disappointment when goals aren't met, while those in caregiving roles may question their masculinity.

Seeking help is essential. Finding a therapist who understands men's issues—sometimes even a male therapist—can provide valuable insight. I invite you to read my thesis on
