I work with individuals from teen through post-retirement. Some people come with specific issues they would like to address. For these folks, we can get right to the process of helping to solve these issues.
Others are not sure why they are unhappy, feel nervous, are dissatisfied, and are not enjoying life. Many are not getting along with their partner, their families or even their coworkers.
Some people have divergent traits or characteristics, that are often considered neurodiverse. These traits may cause frustration in day to day living, interrupt life enjoyment or work performance or make social connections more difficult. These include Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder or common executive function traits.
Together we investigate what is happening, look for the root cause(s) and then come up with a plan to help change things.
I work with couples of all ages and genders and am available for a "Couples Intensive Weekend."
Sometimes couples feel disconnected and don't know how to talk about it with each other. Many struggle to communicate effectively with each other, while others are struggling with the breach of a commitment, such as an infidelity. Frequently the pressures of work, life and family put stress on the relationship. Most people have been there at one time or another.
In therapy I help couples to understand each other better and how to develop more trust and confidence in their partner. Often all it takes is an unbiased observer to help relieve points of friction, conflict, or dissatisfaction. Also, as a male therapist, I understand how difficult it can be for men to express themselves. Therapy provides a safe environment and an understanding third party with whom to explore relationship dissatisfaction, or to help repair hurt and betrayal.
Once we understand core issues, we can set up a "coaching" plan to help develop new patterns and a more harmonious life.
